“Angel with Uzi” was shown in 1986 at Tom’s first gallery, Walker, Ursitti, and McGinnis, in Washington, DC. The sculpture was then purchased by Washington art collector, Herb White. (see 1989 Museum and Arts article )
IN 2013, it was included in the show, Washington Art Matters: 1940’s-1980’s, held at the Katzen Arts Center, at American University. This show was based on a book with the same name written by Jean Lawler Cohen, Elizabeth Tebow, Sidney Lawrence, and Benjamin Forgey.
Angel with Uzi attracts a lot of attention for , among other reasons, the inclusion of an Uzi as the angels weapon, modernizing this iconic type of figurative sculpture.
Here it is displayed in a dramatic warehouse setting during the Rappahannock Artists and Gallery Tour, Washington, VA in 2013.
